About Peace Day A day for the World to come together.If you live on planet Earth and you believe in the power of Peace, you should participate in this event. There are two simple parts to the day: Service and Celebration. Part I: ServiceWe encourage all participants to commit various acts of charity in the days leading up to, and including 8-12. These acts of may take any form you wish. It could be as simple as a donation to a charitable cause. Or you could volunteer with a local charity. The possibilites for service are endless. By committing these acts we will Serve Peace.Part II: Celebration The second part of the day is Celebration. This should speak for itself. If there is one thing humans do well, its party :) The celebrations that take place on 8-12 may also be as large, or as small as you wish. You could have a small party with friends and family at home, or you could take initiative to organize a larger event in your area.Chances are there is a public space near you where such a gathering may be created. Ideally it is our hope that individuals will take it upon themselves to organize and coordinate these larger scale gatherings in their area. We urge you to be creative, and most importantly....have fun!The most common question/comment we hear is:Why cant every day be Peace Day?In an ideal World every day would indeed be Peace Day. However, the purpose of this specific day is to harness the tremendous positive power that is created when individuals decide to come together. The bigger this event gets the more positive the results will be. It will be a day for us to demonstrate our global Unity. We can form a massive display of kindness that will by its sheer size overwhelm even the most critical skeptics. By doing this we might shine light into some of the darkest corners of the world. We may warm some of the coldest hearts.Technology today permits us to organize, synchronize, and coordinate such events with astonishing ease. It can happen overnight. We encourage you to visit our event page on Facebook...and spread the word to your friends. There is no limit to what we can accomplish if we all make the effort to come together. This Peace Day is for the People, and by the People. The shape this day takes can be yours to choose. "There is no way to Peace.....Peace is the way"

Celebration Ideas Celebration IdeasIn addition to being a global charity event.... Peace day is a global celebration. Think of it as an open house party for the world. If there is one thing humans do well... it's party.Hopefully you don't need advice on how to have a good time. The manner in which you celebrate this event is entirely up to you.You can host a small party with friends at your home. Or you can take the initiative to organize a slightly larger event in your area. For instance you could, organize a local block party. Or plan a small gathering at a park near you. One of the easiest way to get these local gatherings started is on social media sites like Facebook. You can start an event page for a local event and send it around to your friends in the area. Pick a location and a time, and just send it out. If you know someone who owns a bar, club, cafe etc... talk to them about putting an event together. Get some local bands to play. Do a small arts and crafts show. Host a food drive. Set up a raffle. Put together asilent auction etc. The possibilites are endless. There are actually many other music and art festivals, and various gatherings taking place all around the world on this day, and there is in all likelyhood one near you. There is no reason why people cant get together, and make those festivals a part of Peace Day, simply by celebrating Peace while at that event. Peace Day was purposefully set up with very simple guidelines. We wanted as many people as possible to be able to participate, without having to be in a specific place, at a specific time. You can participate from wherever you are on August 12th. If you can figure out a way to serve and celebrate peace....you can be a part of this. Thanks for Joining us! Please Spread the Word!
